For full details, please visit the JFSP funding announcement page.

This year, JFSP is seeking proposals that address the following three research areas:

  1. Accelerating science to action in fire-prone ecosystems with changing fire regimes: Promoting innovation in fire management through knowledge exchange and place-based partnerships.
  2. Research to support wildland fire investigations.
  3. Evaluation of operational fire potential forecasts.

In addition, JFSP will continue to support the Graduate Research Innovation (GRIN) award program. Current master’s and doctoral students enrolled at U.S. colleges or universities and studying wildland fire or related sciences are encouraged to apply. These awards aim to enhance student engagement with natural resource management and policy through student-led research.
